Who am I??

Well..it’s not imitated from one of Jackie chan’s movie precisely! hehe...
It’s a question guys!
Have u ever asked this question to urself???
Mostly, when u’re asked who r U…usually U and most people will give the respond by telling urname, right?!
Later,U perhaps comes out with the answer like: “I’m a student” or “I’m a son of Ibrahim” or “I’m A Muslim” or "I’m a captain in my football team at school” or “I’m the dish washer at my home” and so on.
Yup! There’s nothing wrong with all these answer!
What U says ‘bout urself, that’s basically ur opinion, ur thought to describe ur identity.
In the personality psychology, we’ll learn how to identify our personality, to know about ourselves and what kind of people we are.

And it’s been stated that human basically is:  -    Like all others (universal),
                                                                   -    Like some others (particular), and
                                                                   -    Like no others (uniqueness).
“We are like others” term describes human natures in general. Such as smile and laugh when we’re happy, and will sad or cry if we’re hurt.
For the second point mentions that we are similar like some people. For instance joining in a group that have same hobby in adventure like MAPALA, is a good example to represent that human is juz like some others.
Last but not least, we are like no others. No individuals, not even identical twin, raised by the same parents in the same home in the same culture, have exactly the same personalities. Everyone is different to another.
Like me for example, I don’t like drink any hot milk or tea in any condition bcoz it’d make my stomach feel uncomfortable. Or I prefer having my room at high level, upstairs, rather than at downstairs. That’s only a small example of human uniqueness.
Well…that’s all from western perspective. Now, let me give u another explanation from Islamic perspective. Look at the scheme guys!
U & I, we both know ‘bout myself
U know 'bout myself, I don't
I know 'bout myself, U don't
We both dunno bout myself
Hmmm… U & I, we both know about my self. It’s easy, right?!
We know that I’m a Muslim, an Indonesian girl and a psychology student.
Then I know ‘bout myself but U don’t. well… it’s juz like U dunno to whom I falling in love now, U dunno what I’m thinking ‘bout U now, or what I dreamt last night. All the things are only me who know.
But what kind of example for the 3rd point?! U know something ‘bout me but I don’t?!
It’s confusing me! Bcoz that’s all about U think of me. Wanna tell me what’s ‘bout??
Well… perhaps it’s like someone say I’m good at music whereas I see that’s only my common hobby.  Maybe… hehe…
U know guys… these 3 points usually are used by the western psychologist to help people identify their personality. But Muslim scholars add one more which refers to the most wonderful source, the Qur’an.
We both dunno something, or even many things ‘bout me, but He_ our God who created us_ knows that.
Yeah… we dunno who’s gonna be my husband later right?! Or what I’m gonna be in few years from now on, or when I’m gonna die!
Yup! For all kind of these question, all Him can answer.
And the answer for “who am I” can be found in the Qur’an. It’s been mentioned that we all as human being are created only to worship Him, Allah the only God. And as His vicegerent, it’s our duty toserve Him, to be responsible in developing the world, to make sure that everything is used properly only to serve Him. This is actually the right answer for the title above!
Regarding to the last point, it’s not answering the “who am I” merely, but give another explanation as well that is what am I (our duty, our destination of life).
Knowing this will make us more realize and more appreciate Who am I, and Who created us.
So… have U known who r U???
