Insensitivity?

It was started by an inquiry of the universe. The discussion then went on and on. It's getting interesting as people started to show up and jump into the circle.

But then the atmosphere just dropped dead only because of this one question: "what's the point of talking this old theory? Why do we bother? It's better to talk about other social issue around us. You know, poverty, poor neighborhood". 

Well..I know she only meant to be more focus on the real action rather than the never ending discussion on outer space, the milky way, the universe.

But then, it's a sort of insult upon critical thinking and a killer to the human curiosity.

I don't know. As teacher I believe it's her job to nurture students' curiousity, develop their critical thinking as well as the creativity. 

I feel sorry for her.
